The Avro 504 was a British World War I observation and bomber aircraft that entered service in 1913. It was a very versatile machine, but only a small number of these aircraft operated at the front. The Avro 504 gained its greatest popularity only after the war, as a training aircraft. The machines entered large series in the 504J and 504K versions, which in most cases were powered by rotary engines. The total number of machines produced is estimated at 8,340 units.
